2009 - 2016

My interest in art stretches back to my earliest memories. I've always liked to draw, and I've balanced my work between real life subjects and the imagination. After working with and watching Sam Maitin I've tried to infuse my work with movement and to use color boldly. I search for something robust and try not to let a work become too precious, not to say that my pictures can't be delicate, I just don't want to make pictures that are labored over until all the freshness of mark making is dead. I want to see the artist hands and gestures in the paint or whatever the media is.
